I take this opportunity to thank the management for giving me an opportunity to visit Zimbabwe.
We arrived safely on KQ in Livingstone Airport which is like 25-30minutes drive to Zimbabwe where the fam trip took place. We spent a night at the Kingdom very huge hotel would rank it 3star unless they do renovations.
Points to note both Zimbabwe and Zambia share Victoria falls which is their best tourism attraction.
Zimbabwe has ample accommodation facilities from 3 star- 5star, we were hosted by two top most tours and travel agencies.
The Hwange National park is about 2hrs drive from Vic falls, Chobe national park is close by you can therefore combine Vic falls with safaris to the national parks, however their parks are not rich with animals we did an evening game drive but we only saw like 4 elephants, we could see their parks have thick density shrubs and trees (more of a forest) as opposed to our parks where we only have shrubs and grass lands hence easy to spot animals. They explained that their parks are very huge and for this reason the animals spread out hence not easy to find only when lucky as usual.
Find below brief description of a few activities we were lucky to undertake.
Activities:
-Sunset Cruise: This is a cruise on the river Zambezi it’s a 1-2hrs cruise, the biting and drinks are provided on board, the tour guide gives a brief history of the river if you are lucky you will see the hippos.
-Elephant back safari: This is an amazing elephant guided safari ride its takes about 45mins, the ride is done inside a private park again if lucky you could spot a few animals while on safari. Later you get to bond with your elephant and take photos.
-Falls tour: The breath taking Vic falls! here you just let loose and let nature soothe you if you can walk comfortably in a swim suit better for you because the falls vapour is in form of showers so by the time you are done you become completely wet. And the sound is amazing, again the tour guide gives a brief history about the falls. The devils pool is on the Zambia side, it’s a small portion near the edge of the falls only for the brave hearts.
-Walk with lions: A must do the two lions are wild mark you and not sedated, the walk takes about 20-30mins along the bushes but you get to pet them and take photos.
-Helicopter flights
-White water rafting:
-Village tour
-Vic falls canopy tour gorge swing and adventure slides
-Canoe safaris
-Helicopter flights
