FAM TRIP PROGRAM

Day 1 – Departure from JKIA – Terminal 1D

Our trip began at 8030 hours, onboard the Precision Air to Zanzibar. We were 20 people attending the FAM trip all from different agencies.

As we landed into Abeid Amani Karume International Airport at 1020hrs, where we were welcomed by the chauffeur service of ZanTours and BlueBay Representative – Esther, who is a guest relation manager. In the van, we were offered refreshing towels and water.

We then proceeded on a guided visit of Stone Town. We started off our tour by visiting the Park Hyatt Hotel, which was a 20 minute drive from the airport. We were met by Anush, Sales Manager at the hotel, who took us on a site visit.

Park Hyatt Zanzibar features 67 guestrooms, including 11 suites. The rooms are elegant with a contemporary style and modern technology.

The hotel has 4 categories of room;

  • Standard Rooms – prominent Stone Town or hotel garden views
  • Park View Rooms – refreshing Indian Ocean views
  • Deluxe Rooms – private balcony for incredible views of the Indian Ocean and Dhow Harbor
  • Suite – private balconies featuring amazing views of Dhow Harbor and the Indian Ocean.

Hotel Facilities include: Ocean front infinity pool, gym, spa, conference rooms, curio shop, bar.

After lunch at the hotel, we did a Stone Town tour, by foot. We visited the Anglican Church and learnt about the slave trade that took place in the 1800-1900’s by Arabs. We then walked around the spice market.

We arrived at Blue Bay Beach Resort at 1635hrs after an hour’s drive from stone town. We were welcomed by Masai dancers and exotic hibiscus juice.

We then checked into rooms and freshened up. At 1900hrs, we all met at the Bahari Grill restaurant for a BBQ dinner.
Day 2
After breakfast, at 0900hrs, we met blue bay staff at the Blu Deli lounge and were taken on a site inspection.

Privately situated in three bungalows just 30 metres from the beach, there are 6 Junior Suites, extremely spacious and luxurious. Each suite has its own lounge area, a huge verandah and a private garden featuring an external shower

We were unable to see the conference room as it was occupied on all days that we were there. We then went to the Sultan Sands hotel for a site inspection.
