I N T R O D U C T I O N – BANGKOK
This is the capital city of Thailand and rated as one of the top tourist destination cities. Its mostly made up of Thai people, who are a mixture of people from Lao, Burma, Vietnam and Malaysia.
Temperatures in Bangkok regularly stay well above 30°C throughout the year. The period between November and February is the driest period in Bangkok. The humidity levels also remain high during this period. The climate is at its hottest from March to August, while the rainy season tends to fall between June and October. A
Buddhist country, Thailand is, steeped in culture and tradition. Monuments, Ancient and beautiful temples are a unique part of this capital city.
Mode of transport is by train, taxis and tuk tuks
29 MAR –DAY 1 – Nairobi – Bangkok
We departed Nairobi at 2300HRS
Upon arrival in Bangkok airport by flight KQ 860, we meet our guide who then escorted us to check in at hotel, Windsor Suite Hotel Bangkok.
Once we were done with the check-in formalities, we took our time to relax, unwind and Get the feel of this fabulous city. In the evening around 1800HRS we were transferred to Rivercity mall pier to join the dinner cruise on king’s river Chaophraya. Chaophraya Cruise, is a luxury choice of its kind that has catered guests from around the world, Including several VIPs and dignitaries. Capable of welcoming up to 290 persons, the Chaophraya Cruise offers the most memorable dinner cruise experience down the spectacular Chaophraya River. Three cruises were present on this particular night, and our group had been booked on The Grand Pearl, and prior getting on board, a live band performing Elvis Presley music was present to welcome guests. The Cruise boat has several floors and guests were served buffet dinner and once done all guests were transferred to the top most open floor, where the live band was performing. This floor serves as the disco.
At around 2230HRS were back to our hotel.
30 MAR –DAY 2 – Bangkok
After breakfast we left for Siam Ocean World
Siam Ocean World is a landmark of aquatic excitement in the heart of Bangkok
A voyage into the unseen wonders of the deep, made us come face-to- face with a myriad of fascinating underwater animals from around the world ranging from sharks, octopus, scorpions etc Siam Ocean World is rated as Thailand’s premier visitor destination and a major entertainment attraction, and is a subsidiary of the Ocean is Australia Group, the
world’s leading aquarium operator with more than 17 years of experience in the aquarium business.
It is undoubtedly the one not-to-be-missed spot for a visitor in Bangkok.
Once we were done with Siam Ocean World we proceeded to Madame Tussauds Madame Tussauds is a wax Museum, with about 10 rooms, show casing wax figures of renowned personalities Visitors get the unique opportunity to take an emotionally charged journey through the realms of the powerful and famous eg, Princess Diana, Queen Elizabeth, Charman Mao, Mahatma Gandhi, Barak and Michelle Obama, David Beckham, Jonny Depp Oprah Winfrey and many more. The controversial political personality, Chairman Mao seemed to get more attention from visitors (I included) But the most photographed was probably a section of the Oval Office, with the U.S. President and First Lady posing by the festoon curtains.
Later we had lunch at CiTi Bristo at Pathumwan Princess Hotel, a 5 star hotel and winner of three prestigious awards in the Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards 2011-2013
Later in the evening, after dinner we were transferred to watch Siam Niramit show. A world class spectacular performance of Thai art and cultural Heritage with amazing state of the art special effects Travelling back through time into the history and culture of the Kingdom of Siam.
This show is performed live, by different groups to show case the history of Thai people through the years. Camera and cell phones are not allowed in the theatre, as photography on events in the theatre is prohibited. We were explained to, that the Thai Ministry of Tourism took this measure so as to curb any import of their culture to other destinations
The show ended at 2200HRS and we returned back to the Hotel.
31 MAR, DAY 3
After breakfast we left for Safari World
Safari world, is Thailand’s greatest open zoo and leisure park that offers a great variety of entertainment for everyone. Whether it is an exciting safari drive through the picturesque African wilderness settings or an intimate encounter with friendly dolphins. At this Zoo animals from Africa, eg Cheetah, Leopard, Monkeys are present having been Imported, and the zoo is designed to match the African wilderness. Entertainment is offered by the different species eg gorillas from Rwanda show cased a boxing match, and the seals and dolphins show cased water sports.
Our group had Lunch at Safari World Restaurant and later visited Bangkok city to explore this world’s cosmopolitan city.
1 APR, DAY 4
After breakfast we left for Gems Gallery
Gems Gallery, is the world’s biggest jeweler and gems centre, with a vast selection of goods, fair prices and excellent customer services.
We taken through the process of jewellery making through a Slide Multivision presentation before being ushered to the show room displaying the final jewellery.

As a group we were offered 15% discount on every purchase. Rest of the day we visited some selected stars rated hotel in Bangkok.
We visited the below hotels, and to our surprise the staff incharge of showing us around, could not give us the rates as travel agent. This was instruction given to them by the KQ ground handler in Bangkok.
Incase of enquiry we were advised to contact KQ offices in Nairobi for the same, as they have the best deals.
